Superb and so quintessentially Santa Rita Hills. Open and welcoming nose of sexy, sultry, oozy cherry sap, dark baking spice, moist loam, and dark florals. Deep and rich flavors hit the palate, but without jamminess or excess sweetness. Turns a bit savory in the clingy finish. Almost no tannins apparent. Just enough acids to propel it forward. Fair amount of oak shows first, then the tangy, cool climate Sonoma Coast fruit, nicely balanced dark fruits, rich without heaviness, long, lingering finish, terrific 25-year-old Pinot Noir!!
This wine was named for Dianna’s and Adam’s (first?) son. My recollection is this was either best barrel(s) or a special parcel of Hirsch Vineyard fruit (I recall that Siduri first made a Hirsch PN in 1995, I think?) Does anyone else know whether my recollections above are correct? — 7 months ago
