Sea Smoke

Southing Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir 2019

Red plum for days. And clove, violets, pomegranate and cranberry.

Reminiscent of a riper Morey St Denis.

Château Haut-Brion

Pessac-Léognan Red Bordeaux Blend 2005

Medium deep ruby , garnet rim . Quite closed at first , touch of spice , wood smoke , grafite , coffee, cocoa . Touches of blackberry , cassis , violet . On the palate quite rich and young still , lots of tannin , balanced alcohol and fresh acidity . Cassis , tobacco , blackberry . Mineral , tobacco tinged finish of excellent length . Still young needs more time , better in 5 or 10 years and will last well a further 20. Great potential ! — 4 months ago

Yes @Bob McDonald ! It was quite difficult to choose a favourite. The potential and power of the 2005 , the showy , explosive nature of the 2000 or the elegant and classic 1998… Such quality across the board

Sea Smoke

Sea Spray Blanc de Noirs Sta. Rita Hills Sparkling Pinot Noir 2018

These are getting better. The last one I had was a bit wound up but this one was expressing juicy flavors of cherry and ginger with fine bubbles. — 2 months ago

Thierry Allemand

Cornas Reynard (R) Syrah 2007

Always some of my absolute favorite wines. 07 Reynard is in the most perfect place, perfumed, layered and searingly intense with dark fruit, campfire smoke, olive tapenade, violets and a liquid rock minerality. The palate is simply seamless and one of the most complete Allemand wines in recent memory, with incredible complexity, definition and a saturating texture. A top notch Reynard that’s just rocking right now. — a month ago

Sea Smoke

Estate Vineyard Sta. Rita Hills Chardonnay

Love. This. Wine.

Day two with a bit of airtime after being sealed with wine2pro overnight

Golden color. Solid oak without being overly sweet. Good acidity to balance oak. Finesse in the finish.
