Exspectatia Beaujolais Gamay 2015

Another “find” from my cellar, Ducroux is really an amazing producer of fresh and complex Gamay, very redfruit, crisp, pure, and super refreshing, long finish, very fine natural Beaujolais!!! — 15 days ago

Patience Vin de France Gamay

So much earthier than I anticipated with a Gamay wine, but fruity and delicious nonetheless. — 21 days ago

Les Grands Chaillots Bourgogne Pinot Noir 2021

2021 vintage. Last tasted 07.23.24 (9.2). This bottle (like that one, tasted at a fave resto) chilled down a bit and traced over 1.25 hours. That bottle $120 then...now...same bottle $140 off the list. This visit a tad tighter and closer to the vest. Still very nice. 01.21.25. — 25 days ago

@Pinotman /// Andreas Yeah, a bit pricey but was in the mood for red Burg vs red Rhône, BDX or elsewhere. Rarely buy 750ml bottles when dining out (usually do btg) so a small splurge.

I did not buy enough of this yesterday. Crushed smooth red fruit that ends with bubble gum. Have always loved the wines that Thibault makes so I am probably biased. — 14 days ago

Champ de Cour Moulin-à-Vent Gamay 2020

A tiny, south facing and protected parcel of 80 year old vines, “Champ de Cour” typically shows its quality even when young and this bottle was no exception.

Double-decanted two hours prior to service; enjoyed over the course of three hours. The 2020 “Champ de Cour” pours a deep ruby/purple with medium+ viscosity and light staining of the tears. The nose evokes fresh cut roses in the greenhouse (yes, a touch funky), strawberry (with the leaves), the purple Fun Dip, granite earth, green herbs, and decomposing wood. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+ and grippy. Fresh, ripe and rustic. I love these wines from Thibault. As I eluded to earlier, I find these drink much better than the VV young. The VV needs about 7 years to really start strutting. Drink this now with some patience and through 2030. Thanks Andy!
