Walla Walla

Cayuse Vineyards

En Chamberlin Vineyard Syrah 2022

2022 vintage. Heavy body. Dark fruited nose. Big mouthfeel and super smooth. Eerily similar textures to recently tasted 2019 Rostaing La Landonne (9.6) and 2019 Côte Blonde (9.5) Côte-Rôties. If you're a syrah fan, you owe it to yourself to taste this at some point. 03.14.25. — 16 days ago

Surprise find at restaurant. Past its prime, but always fun to try older bottle and explore vintages never has before. — a month ago

Northstar

Walla Walla Valley Merlot 2021

It’s a little tight at first but nothing a quick decanting won’t fix. After that the wine is fine, actually turns out be quite balanced and nuanced. — 2 months ago

Spring Valley Vineyard

Frederick Estate Grown Walla Walla Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2018

Needs good decanting or aeration to open up to red fruit, high alcohol, strong tannings, high acid, and a soft cherry finish. The wine has the right components but feels a little immature despite its good age, all over the palate in a way. — 2 months ago

L'Ecole No. 41

Walla Walla Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2017

Deep purple in color with a short purple rim.

Fruity nose and full bodied with medium acidity and long legs.

Dry on the palate with nice complexity and mouthfeel.

Showing black fruits, cedar, licorice, light vanilla, tobacco, espresso, chocolates, earth, light vegetables, herbs and peppercorn.

This 8-year-old Washington State Cabernet Sauvignon is drinking very nicely right out of the bottle, and even better after 90 minutes of airtime.

Rich and fruit forward. Elegant and complex. Spicy and entertaining.

Peaking now and will continue to drink nicely in the next 5 years.

Wine Spectator 90 points. Wine Enthusiasts 92 points.

Easy drinking and good by itself as a sipping wine. Will also pair nicely with barbecue meats.

14.5% alcohol by volume.

91 points.

$45 (current vintage).

Gramercy Cellars

Walla Walla Valley Syrah 2018

This 2018 rendition is a little lighter and crisper than prior vintages I’ve had. Nose is quite bright with red berry fruit and vaguely smoky crushed rock dust. In the mouth it’s medium bodied, has a very soft mouthfeel, and nice, buoyant acids. Ready to drink right now, it’s like a very friendly take on a Saint-Joseph. I prefer the deeper, earthier prior vintages I’ve had, but this is very nice in its own, understated way. — 2 months ago
