Dry, tart, not as sweet as most Rieslings, improved when allowed to breathe, paired well with teriyaki Salmon. — 5 months ago

My favorite Austrian producer for Riesling. Acid, acid and more acid. Very steely, crisp, wet rock, apricot, bone dry. — 6 days ago
Slightly carbonated, funky, dry, crisp, wonderful, not too tart... perfect with seafood. This is a favorite. — 2 days ago

This lovely Siduri Pinot Noir is very dark-colored, big, rich, old vine mountain fruit (my recollection is that this is an old “head-pruned” Pinot vineyard, at elevation??), I can see criticism that it’s not really “Pinot Noir-like”, but like the older St. Innocent “Freedom Hill” Pinot Noirs, these wines last a long time, so even if it’s too “big”, it’s rich, intense and complex!! But, you wouldn’t ever guess, “blind”, that this was a red Burgundy. I happen to like it, as it seems youthful and fresh, with further aging potential. — a month ago
German Savagnjn. Let’s go! Nose has that wooly Savagnin thing but with crystalline clarity. Unreal wafting minerals. Some nougat and hints of caramel. So much aroma. Palate is dense and rich but also ephemeral and pointed. Structured to a T and this has a delicate tannic structure. Awesome purity, freshness and incredible depth and drinkability. As this airs the acidity comes into focus and it has wonderful grip and focus. — 2 years ago

At Sama Sama in Santa Barbara. Excellent really! 50/50 blend in 2024 of Grüner and Riesling. Graham did a great job with this one. Galloni seems to consistently like this one as well. Floral and tropical. Just awesome with asian food. An artist at work. Herbaceous undertow, faint touch of pineapple, apple, 🍏, some lemon, tangerine oil. — 7 days ago
