Beautifully aromatic nose, probably starting the best phase right now.
Black cherry with some damson plum, a nice cedar wood note and a healthy dose of spices. Fresh, relatively cool, with stony minerality. Quite distinct and with very little iron or earthy aromas. Enticing.
On the palate this is the finest black sour cherry juice with some plum and a pinch of exotic spice (cloves, allspice, cinnamon, pepper). Beautiful juicy acidity, tannins polished & perfectly integrated. Fresh, sappy, so drinkable. The iron note appears in the very long, mineral finish.
This is singing right now! Delicious stuff!
Wish I had more bottles of this!! — 2 months ago
Fresh damson plums, black mulberry, Zwetschgenröster, and some fresh herbs & spices - sage, allspice.
On the palate this is light with lively, juicy acidity, a nice tannic grip, a fresh, mineral finish.
Has a inky, slightly wild side to it, but overall a very complete & elegant Blaufränkisch. And drinking so nicely right now! — 3 years ago
Really impressive. Complex. Deep. Northern Rhone like. — 3 months ago
Fresh, vibrant, a bit funky and cloudy. Fresh, slightly macerated strawberries, a bit of moss, undergrowth and red tree bark. Zingy in the palate, highly drinkable, a touch funky.
Closer to NZ than Burgundy or Germany.
Nothing overly sophisticated, very much a glou-glou wine - fun, easy, disappears in minutes. — 10 months ago
Light golden haze. Meyer lemon, pineapple, hint of not gross banana, on shore breeze. Acid bomb with puckering tartness. Generally pretty awesome. — 3 years ago
