Franciacorta: The Region, The Method, The Wine Friday, November 15, 2019, 2:00 PM - 3:30 PM The name Franciacorta has three meanings - the region, the production of the wine, and the wine itself. This masterclass will provide detailed insight to all attendees about the region's history, unique soil and climate, the process in which the wine is made, how that compares to other traditional method sparkling wines, and how well it pairs with food. All of this is useful for sommeliers in selling and pairing the wines for customers, providing contextual understanding of the similarities and differences between Franciacorta and other traditional method sparkling wines, and will provide useful regional history and understanding for possible test questions. It will also educate sommeliers for a possible compare and contrast style essay question.
