With all the various regions, producers, and grapes, no week will be the same! All of the wines listed in this feature are available for purchase on Banquet . This week's must-try wines are from Antonio Galloni’s article, Chianti Classico: The Magnificent 2021s . Enjoy his notes for this week's must-try below! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ "Two thousand twenty-one is the single greatest young vintage I have ever tasted in Chianti Classico. Period. Full stop. The 2021s are majestic wines endowed with striking aromatics, layered fruit and all the energy that is such a signature of the appellation. Quality is consistently high across the region, while many wines hit breathtaking peaks of excellence. Last year, I wrote, 'The 2021s, in particular, are some of the most exciting young wines I have tasted in more than 25 years of visiting the region.' The top bottlings, those being released this year, more than confirm that initial impression. This is a historic vintage Vinous readers will want to pay close attention to." --Antonio Galloni, Chianti Classico: The Magnificent 2021s, July 2024 1. 2021 Antinori - Tenuta Tignanello Chianti Classico Riserva Marchese Antinori 2. 2022 Castellare Chianti Classico 3. 2019 Castell'in Villa Chianti Classico 4. 2020 Castello di Bossi Chianti Classico Riserva Berardo 5. 2022 Monteraponi Chianti Classico 6. 2021 Podere Le Boncie Le Trame 7. 2021 Podere Le Boncie Chiesamonti 8. 2020 Tenuta di Carleone Uno 9. 2021 Tenuta di Carleone Il Guercio 10. 2021 Tenuta di Carleone Chianti Classico

Tenuta di Carleone

Chianti Classico Sangiovese 2021

Delectable Wine
9.3

The 2021 Chianti Classico, 100% Sangiovese from Radda, is sublime. Aromatic and delineated, with terrific energy, the 2021 soars out of the glass. Dark cherry fruit, lavender, spice, licorice and new leather all come alive in the glass. The 2022 spent two to three months on the skins, with about 40% whole clusters. Aging was done in a combination of vessels with the goal of building complexity in the final blend. It is an exceptional wine in every way. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, July 2024)

Monteraponi

Chianti Classico Sangiovese Blend 2022

Delectable Wine
9.1

The 2022 Chianti Classico is a powerful, rich wine that offers a striking reflection of the intensity of the year, slightly tempered by the elevation of Radda. Crushed flowers, red berry fruit, cinnamon and orange peel are all nicely lifted. There's gorgeous brilliance and energy here. The 2022 spent 16 months in cask. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, July 2024)

Castell'in Villa

Chianti Classico Sangiovese 2019

Delectable Wine
9.3

The 2019 Chianti Classico has changed dramatically since I last tasted it, either because of more time in bottle, or because this is a later bottling. In any event, the 2019 is dense, ample and resonant in feel. Readers will find a serious, texturally intense Chianti Classico that delivers the goods, big time. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, July 2024)

Tenuta di Carleone

Il Guercio Toscana Sangiovese 2021

Delectable Wine
9.3

The 2021 Il Guercio is 100% Sangiovese from Lamole. Vinification and aging in cement yielded an especially stark but expressive wine that is so distinctive. Crushed flowers, spice, lavender, mint and orange peel are all beautifully lifted. A touch of stems adds aromatic breadth, but they aren’t especially evident. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, July 2024)

Podere le Boncie (Giovanna Morganti)

Le Boncie Chiesamonti Toscana IGT Sangiovese 2021

Delectable Wine
9.5

The 2021 Chiesamonti is a potent, full-bodied wine that is going to need time to unwind. Herbs, wildflowers, spice, leather and menthol build in this backward, potent red from Le Boncie. There’s plenty of stuffing and textural intensity in this deep, resonant wine. I can't wait to see how it ages. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, July 2024)

Castello di Bossi

Riserva Berardo Chianti Classico Sangiovese Blend 2020

Delectable Wine
9.0

The 2020 Chianti Classico Riserva Berardo offers up scents of plum, blackberry, dried herbs, leather, cedar, tobacco and licorice. This virile Riserva captures plenty of the earthy, somber power often found in wines from Castelnuovo Berardenga. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, July 2024)

Marchesi Antinori

Tenuta Tignanello Riserva Chianti Classico Sangiovese Cabernet Sauvignon 2021

Delectable Wine
9.3

The 2021 Chianti Classico Riserva Marchese Antinori is particularly strong this year. Red cherry, plum, blood orange and pomegranate infuse the 2021 with notable depth. French oak is better integrated than in the past. There's less extraction today and quite a bit more finesse. This is a terrific showing from Antinori. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, July 2024)

Tenuta di Carleone

'Uno' Toscana Sangiovese 2020

Delectable Wine
9.3

The 2020 Uno (Sangiovese) is elegant, delicate and nuanced. Crushed flowers, sweet red-toned fruit, spice, mint and orange peel are all beautifully delineated in this understated, classy Sangiovese. The 2020 is exquisite. It shows the smaller-scaled size of the year vis-à-vis the 2021. Fine-grained tannins round things out in style. This is a lovely choice for drinking now and over the near to medium term. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, July 2024)

Podere le Boncie (Giovanna Morganti)

Le Trame Toscana Sangiovese Blend 2021

Delectable Wine
9.8

The 2021 Le Trame is everything I hoped it would be. Intensely aromatic, silky and deep, with explosive fruit, the 2021 is a rapturously beautiful wine that captures proprietor Giovanna Morgante at her very best. Readers will have to be patient, as the 2021 needs time to be at its most expressive, but its potential is already evident from the very early going. Le Boncie could very well turn out to be Italy's next superstar estate. Readers will want to snap up these wines before that becomes apparent to the public. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, July 2024)

Castellare di Castellina

Chianti Classico Sangiovese 2022

Delectable Wine
9.2

The 2022 Chianti Classico is a fine introduction to the Castellare range. Silky, aromatic and light on its feet, this is a wine of tremendous appeal. The 2022 is on the fruitier side, but its balance is impeccable. Hints of spice, leather and citrus linger on the mid-weight finish. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, July 2024)
