The XXI is the total sum of the 2021 vintage due to frost but mainly rot caused by too much rain at the end of the season. According to its maker, the domain lost around 60% of the crop. This is definitely a Sauvignon Blanc with its green capsicum and mint flavors; often, the varietal character is less overt in the Daguneau styles. It's light in body with silken flesh built through the mid-palate. The 2021 offers some nice texture and lees-derived pastry characters. (Rebecca Gibb MW, Vinous, August 2024)

The 2022 Chambrates is a finely held wine. It's a delicate style that's clear and pure, with ripe flavors of red apple and citrus. The wine is finely balanced and knit together with chalky precision on the drawn-out finish. (Rebecca Gibb MW, Vinous, August 2024)

The 2022 Sibylle is a textural, tender Rosé that offers a gentle welcome. It fills the mouth with ripe, sweet fruit. The gentle acidity gives an impression of sweetness despite it being totally dry. Great for early drinking. (Rebecca Gibb MW, Vinous, August 2024)

Mellow and savory, the 2019 La Moussière is starting to enter a nice period of its life but has excellent concentration and tension. It's a richly styled, spicy, smoky and meaty Pinot Noir (70% whole bunches). A fruit cake-like character lingers with tea leaves on the ripe finish. Interesting, it is starting to develop, but plenty of life is still in it. (Rebecca Gibb MW, Vinous, August 2024)

The 2022 Sancerre Rouge is a gently styled, savory Pinot Noir with creamy red fruit and spice. It's light to medium-bodied with a richness of fruit on the mid-palate and succulent tannins. The 2022 is satisfying even at this early stage. (Rebecca Gibb MW, Vinous, August 2024)

The 2022 Monts Damnés is a wine whose qualities you might miss because its texture is so fine. It is calm, tender and elegant. It's not fruity but savory with a pure, clear, chalky style. A little tense at the moment, this wine could be approached but will benefit from another year in bottle - or many more. (Rebecca Gibb MW, Vinous, August 2024)

Gorgeous and silken, the 2019 Generation Dix-Neuf is a ball of beautiful, silky, concentrated Pinot Noir. Savory and smoky, it seems effortless, although it's clearly been anything but based on the impeccable quality. It caresses the palate. There's intensity and density here but no weight. The 2019 is a very complete wine that's still young. (Rebecca Gibb MW, Vinous, August 2024)

The 2022 Chêne Marchand is a richly fruited wine offering creamy notes and ripe peach fruit. While it's an opulent style for a Sancerre, it never becomes heavy, plus it has an almost tannic edge, providing a frame and reassuring structure that grips the palate, suggesting that this has longevity. There's a fine, briny character throughout. Having tasted the killer 1996 vintage a few minutes afterward, you can be sure this wine has a long life ahead. (Rebecca Gibb MW, Vinous, August 2024)
