Marcel Lapierre

Cuvée Camille Morgon Gamay 2021

Delectable Wine
9.3

The 2021 Morgon Côte du Py Cuvée Camille offers a mixture of red and black fruit. This is interwoven with wonderful mineralité and tension. The palate is medium-bodied with finely-chiseled tannins. Very saline and certainly extremely precise, blessed with a poised and tensile finish. You can feel the tension in this nascent Morgon. (Neal Martin, Vinous, May 2023) — 2 years ago

Anthony Thevenet

Cuvée Julia Morgon Cote du Py Gamay 2020

Delectable Wine
9.4

The 2020 Morgon Côte du Py Cuvée Julia undergoes a 20-day maceration and nine months élevage in barrel. It has a pretty nose with raspberry, wild strawberry and light orange sorbet scents. The palate is medium-bodied with very fine tannins framing the pure, mineral-driven red fruit. Elegant and poised on the lingering finish. Superb. (Vinous, Neal Martin, May 2023) — 2 years ago

Louis Claude Desvignes

La Voûte Saint-Vincent Morgon Gamay 2021

Delectable Wine
8.8

The 2021 Morgon La Voûte Saint-Vincent has an attractive nose with dark cherries, bergamot, iodine and light violet scents. The palate is medium-bodied with soft tannins and surprisingly plush for the vintage. It maybe misses a little grip but there is plenty of depth on the finish with a touch of white pepper on the aftertaste. (Neal Martin, Vinous, May 2023) — 2 years ago

Château Thivin

"Reverdon" Brouilly Gamay 2020

Delectable Wine
9.0

The 2020 Brouilly Reverdon has a well-defined nose of blackberry and briary fruit, beautifully defined with underlying graphite scents percolating through with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with a licorice-tinged entry, then very concentrated with black and blueberry fruit towards the finish and a lick of dark chocolate on the aftertaste. Lovely. (Neal Martin, Vinous, May 2023) — 2 years ago

Domaine De La Grand'Cour (Jean-Louis Dutraive)

Clos de la Grand'Cour Fleurie Gamay 2020

Delectable Wine
9.1

The 2020 Fleurie Chapelle des Bois has a little reduction on the nose, but there is good concentration here with wild strawberry and red cherry. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins, very pure and smooth. Touches of blood orange furnish the long and lively finish. Delicious. (Neal Martin, Vinous, May 2023) — 2 years ago

Domaine De La Grand'Cour (Jean-Louis Dutraive)

Cuvée Vieilles Vignes Brouilly Gamay 2020

Delectable Wine
8.7

The 2020 Brouilly Vieilles Vignes did not seem quite correct on the nose to me. It's a bit smudged and missing the clarity of all the other cuvées that I noticed at the Domaine. The palate is likewise a little sweet on the entry and just feels a bit labored. I prefer the '21 - this might have been picked a bit too late. (Neal Martin, Vinous, May 2023) — 2 years ago

Anne Sophie Dubois

Les Labourons Fleurie Gamay 2021

Delectable Wine
9.0

The 2021 Fleurie Les Labourons has a very pure and pretty bouquet that blossoms in the glass: black cherries, wilted iris petals, hints of blood orange - this is wonderful. The palate is medium-bodied with a slightly candied entry. It's fleshy for a Fleurie, maybe just missing the delineation on the finish that Dubois can achieve in a more benevolent season. Yet this remains a quite delicious proposition. (Neal Martin, Vinous, May 2023) — 2 years ago
