2012 Hawk Watch Sauvignon Blanc, San Diego County, Cali. A victim of the composite cork! Muted aromas. Green pear, peach and herbal flavors on a slightly flabby finish. Boo! It must have tasted amazing when purchased at the winery last year. #wine #sommelier #cork #corked #sandiego #california — 11 years ago

#Tannic beast of a wine! #Georgian #Saperavi by #NikaWinery. Have had wines from this #organic producer before that were much softer & more approachable. This #unfiltered offering needed to stay locked away in the #cellar for a little while yet until maybe it could have come around. Its tannic nature is not at balance with the somewhat high acidity. Interesting but very abrasive at this point. Will put a #cork in it and see what happens overnight. Hopefully it will soften and flesh out a bit, becoming something less assertive & better integrated tomorrow. #Optimistic. — 10 years ago
