Agharta Wines
Black Label Syrah Blend

99% Syrah and 1% Grenache. Starting to lose its fruit. Some dusty tannins hanging on but I would drink up.

Plum, purple fresh fruit, dark berries, slightly tangy. Not too much oak and good balance. Very good.

Definitely reflects the more savory side of Syrah. A touch of wet stone and charcoal. Complex nose. I think this needs a bit more time. Tannins are still hanging strong.

I expected better. I have a couple bottles left and will revisit, so all may not yet be lost. Most of what this wine gives you is on the nose: oak, charcoal, black licorice. Mouth feel is thinner than you'd expect given the prominence of the nose, the deep black color and knowing it's essentially all syrah. Solid, but unspectacular.

So amazing. First time with this vintage. Time will be its friend.
