The 2006 Les Origines is dark and brooding in the glass, slowly opening to reveal notes of plum and fig with hints of black licorice, tobacco and moist ashen earth. It floods the palate with silky textures, ushering in pure black cherry and sweet exotic spice with a mineral twang. The finish is medium in length, with a distinct flavor of cherry pits, yet there’s also a slight hint of heat here. I believe this vintage of Grand Veneur may have already seen its best days

Jun 5th, 2020You really notice the Mourvèdre in this. Earthy, graphite, garrigue, plummy fruit.

Tastes of plum, rocky soil.
