Very impressive sancerre...classic intense nose of grapefruit, lemon/lime, tart on palate, vegetal in background with some jalapeño and slight bell pepper...slight oak on this with baking spices and unusual for sancerre...acid medium + ....well balanced and perfect with homemade chicken teriyaki with veggies/bell peppers..

Dec 16th, 2017This shows a lot more pineapple and a hint of saline/ozone. The combination brings botrytis to mind. The wine is very richly textured with high acid. It is very good, but for this money I'd rather drink Burgundy.

Aug 28th, 2017This one's on me - for being sentimental and hesitant to open my Sancerre keepsake. Edmond's best years are probably behind. In 2023 he's mostly void of fruit, with leftover flint and smoke, green bell pepper, and bitter pith that's kind of handed to you on a platter, void of life. Sturdy, steely, linear, dying or maybe dead.

Dégustation à l’aveugle, 4 vins pour 3 cépages afin de trouver le cépage. Tout le monde a eu le même classement sur les 4 vins, No 4 pour les 3 dégustateurs. Un nez bizarre, de la menthe, du fruit exotique, une bouche avec de l’acidité un peu trop prononcée, sans grand équilibre et au mieux assez moyen.
Tasted blind, 4 wines, 3 varietals. The 3 of us had the same ranking in terms if the wines, this one came in no 4 for all of us. Funky nose, mint, some exotic fruit but mostly hard to gage without being a defective bottle, the acidity is a little too much, no balance and average at best.

Funky nose that then develops to a more complex and explosive aspect, green apple, litchi, mint, touch of hazelnut, and then a slight varietal and vegetal aspect of the Sauvignon. Palate is crisp, wide, massive but a medium length on day one, day two the wine is so much better, more balanced and in place it seems.
Un nez très exhubérant et complexe après un début bizarre un peu, Litchi, pommes verte, touche de noisettes et de menthe, du buis finit par se pointer. Bouche avec beaucoup d’acidité, une certaine amertume, longueur moyenne, au jour deux est bien meilleur avec plus de précision pour monter plus vers 89 pts que 87-88.
