Alta Vista
Alto Malbec Cabernet Sauvignon
Mendoza, Cuyo, Argentina
Irresistible aroma of ripe black and blue fruits, dark chocolate, incense, pine nuts, vanilla, light cigar and hint of sweet soy source. The palate was ripe, plush, and elegant, with additional taste of port and spices. Velvety texture and a sweet and slightly bitter finish that lasts long after the final sip. A slightly jammy wine but in an incredible subtle, elegant, and balance way. Wow!
My first Alta Vista bottle, and I’m glad it’s their flagship wine. 75/25 Malbec/Cab, 14 months in new French barrels.

Very dark fruits, medium to heavy bodied. cherries, dark plums, blueberry, black currants, espresso, and hints of dark chocolate followed by medium peppery notes and mild peppercorn. Mild chewiness and leather. It is excellently balanced, and a very elegant wine. Decanted for 40 minutes and enjoyed over several hours, as it continued to evolve.
