This 2010 Malbec from the Altos Terroir Series is from a select parcel of land in Uco, near Mendoza in Argentina. Given the recommendation of collaring up to 5 years this wine should be hitting its straps right now. In comparison to last nights' entry level Malbec there's a far better integration of fruit:oak.
On the eye it's dark red and completely opaque with an almost pink edge. The nose is black plum with a hint of tobacco. The palate is a mirror image and the finish is very long, dry and licoricey!

Great black fruit with decent tannins. Not overly complex in its flavors, but Mendoza Malbec is quickly becoming a top pick.
