An example of a well-made wine in a difficult vintage. A bit of '11 thinness is balanced by soft tannins and mendo forest. A touch tannic until decanted -- 2-3 more years in bottle should take care of that.

Everything I love in a new world Pinot. Bright cherries and strawberries, herbal notes of tea, light bodied, soft tannins, great acidity. All Anthill Farms' pinots are consistently good and crowd pleasers. When people say they don't like pinots I usually turn to this or El Molino to convince them otherwise.

I’ve been down on Anderson Valley Pinots, and was pleasantly surprised by this gem. Nose starts with soil or forest notes, which blew off to reveal tight red fruit. Pomegranate, sweet baking spices, something mildly vegetal, and lavender, are all readily apparent. This is on the lean side of Cali Pinot, but with enough richness to enjoy with or without food. Do give this a quick decant. I feel this has plenty of life in it.
