Deep ruby garnet is the glass. Big nose of red fruit and vanilla oak. Full bodied layered palate of red fruit, fig, and vanilla extract hides the very high (15.9%!) alcohol well. Medium minus tannins and medium acidity. This end of the market is really stepping up its game. The bourbon barrels actually add something to it beyond “gimmick.” Great with barbecue ribs and chicken. I’ll seek it out when it comes back next year.

Nice red wine. Did have notes from being aged in whiskey barrel. A spicy pizza brought out the sweeter maple flavor

Pretty complex flavor profile for a wine in this price range. The whiskey does come through, which I like. I could really pick up the toasted oak flavor.

Nice balanced red, not too full bodied. Has a hint of whiskey fire after it goes down, and slight whiskey/bourbon taste to give this red a distinct flavor! Very enjoyable for the price!

Strong oak up front with some prominent vanilla on the finish. The barrel works better here than similar wines I've tried recently. Works well blending some of my favorite attributes of barrel aged beers, whiskey and wine
