Exceptionally rich yet nervy, Lohsa 2013 Morellino di Scansano is certainly cut along the local Sangiovese lines of this DOCG but this is cut of a finer woolen and fragrant cloth true to the Poliziano house whose handsome strength comes through in savory spiced cherries and al dente tannins. A wine to serve with wild boar or crispy duck.

Honestly I was very impressed with this wine. The softness and simplicity paired amazingly with my slow roasted veal fettuccine. The nose fills with ripe fruits but the palate itself is very subtle. Not complicated, and still ever so enjoyable.
