Ode to Lulu California Old Vine Rosé Blend
Right time, right place. I think the bottling (Lulu) is a nod to someone at Domaine Tempier. Very light pink hues, a tad fizzy on entry but that dissipates. Primary fruit is strawberry and perhaps watermelon. This isn't as solid as Matthiason, Bandol Domaine Tempier or Liquid Farm for me. I'd rank it with Arnot Roberts. Less weight, simple and fun.

Aug 1st, 2017Salmon color with aromatic strawberry, watermelon, lime zest, stone fruit and wet stone aromas. On the palate it's medium-bodied, focused and harmonious with a vibrant, mouth-watering acidity and strawberry, watermelon, lime and a hint of white peach flavors with an appealing mineral driven long finish. An altogether gorgeous rosé! 12.3% abv. Fermented on native yeast. old vine Mourvèdre and Grenache. A gorgeous rosé

1 person found it helpfulJun 14th, 2017Bright pink rose with a bit of a darker fruit profile, I'm guessing that characteristic comes from the heavy dose of 100+yr old mourvedre. There is also a melon note here that is delicious and keeps me reaching for the next glass. Great rose year after year but this may be its finest vintage to date.

Apr 30th, 2017First of the '16. This is delicious, crunchy red fruit with melon and strawberry upfront. Grenache for the brightness, Mourvedre for the depth. Gorgeous.

Apr 14th, 2017Light peachy pink. Love the nose with layers of melon, kiwi, and red berries like strawberries. Moderate acidity (6.5/10) and light bodied. Definitely acidity driven with red berries in the attack. A touch of grass in the mid palate with tropical and stone fruits. A little dry with minerality in the finish. Long and lingering. Drink till 2019.
