The palate is is ruby, creamy and ripe; cherries, raspberries, blackberries, blueberries and strawberries. Volcanic minerals, soft spice, used leather, rich dark soils, raspberries/cola, licorice, fresh red florals, round, beautiful acidity and a long, polished, well balanced finish. Photos of their Italian villa, entry signage, tasting room and vineyard as viewed from the front of the Estate.

Dec 3rd, 2017Smooth though a tad tired. Cherries and licorice. It's a fun drink. Will blow through the rest of my case soon, as may've missed the timing a bit here. Still a fine effort, and a Merlot that was surely dynamite just a couple years ago.

Aug 10th, 2016In 2005, Blankiet changed the name of its Merlot to Rive Droite. Primarily Merlot but with some Cabernet and Cab Franc. Dark red cherries and red licorice. Very smooth after a decade of aging

Jun 23rd, 2016Spicy, elegant yet large-scaled, with resolved tannins and a plum/cassis-infused finish.

Oct 17th, 2014Started out cold and was beautifully balanced but as it got closer o room temperature it flirted with overripeness in a saucy, heavy and somewhat ungainly way. On day two it was bright cherry and a little licorice but thinner and shorter.
