Dark red purple with opaque near-black core. Inviting nose of dark berry compote and cedar vanilla. Full-bodied palate confirms the nose with violet undertones wrapped in velvety (medium plus) tannins. Lovely lengthy blackberry finish. Wow. Hadn’t seriously considered Virginia reds until now. This PV will go anywhere it’s West Coast Bordeaux varietal kin would, and show with aplomb. Steak frites with crispy fries and sautéed kale was my choice. Drink now through 2025.
