The Tannat grape is from the SW of France and grown now in Uruguay. Displays some characteristics of Syrah with deep fruit and spicy finish. Also Cabernet with deep dark fruit. This Tannat shows black plum, chocolate, a touch of licorice. Some vanilla. And spice on the finish. It’s delicious. This grape made its way to Uruguay with French immigrants who moved to Uruguay in the 1800s. It’s the main grape varietal in Uruguay today. Price point is great too. This bottle was $15.
