Man, I'm glad I opened this tonight. This was another experimental wine, much like the mencia a couple of weeks ago from the same producer. Needless to say - I'm a fan of their lineup.

This Godello is grown on slate, rock, and quartzite soils in Bierzo in northwest Spain. Very pretty nose of jasmine, minerals, apple skin and peach. Palate is refined and citrusy with a nice bracing acidity balanced by a touch of RS on the finish. More peach and minerals on the finish. Hit it's sweet spot at about 59 degrees (15 celsius) and went down super smooth.

Overall, a great Godello, especially at only $15. Think Chablis on a budget - I'll be adding this to my summer repertoire.

2013v. Pale yellow with tiny bubbles. Some white flowers and citrus (orange, lemon, grapefruit) on the nose. The citrus also hits the palette with some pithy and green apple bitterness. A fair bit of round acid that lingers on the long finish (for a white). Medium body in the tongue. Overall, it's not the most complex wine, but it's very food friendly. I drank it with a simply-seasoned pork chop with a good fat ring on the outside. The wine cut through the fat nicely. 12.5% ABV.

An interesting Godello. Great pairing for spice grilled chicken wings. Surprised but happy
