My last Wednesday Wine Committee to attend this year. Quite the lesson in Spanish wines! As always, all wines are tasted blind.
The most difficult of the 4 reds to figure out. I ended up going to Bordeaux with this. First notes were Cab Franc like with black and red fruits as well as a small bit of pepper, but the pepper gave way to plum and herbal notes. Probably needs another 3 years to really show appropriately.

When first open this reserva was extremely bright with cherry pits, little bit of cured pancetta - after an hour of being open, the brightness has now mellowed and has this beautiful roundness to it. On the nose I'm getting newly opened rose pedals, also still getting the cured pancetta along with a earthyness at mid palette and a smokey finish. Nice for the price.

When first opened it smelled like soft rose petals and ripe cherries. Started out a little tart. After an hour, it mellows out into dark berries, light earthiness, and a slight hint of smoke on the finish but not too harsh. $12'ish at Costco. #wine
