Bodegas Juan Gil
12 Meses Silver Label Jumilla Monastrell
Ripe and sour plum, dried fig, blackberry jam, licorice, vanilla, smoke tea leaf, and ever so slightly perfumed. Initial palate feels warm and round, but quickly turns to high acidity and sweet spice with a lot of heat at the end.
This is a big, in-your-face type of wine. Not really my type, but it’s quite delicious.

Dark ruby color, cherry and hint of vanilla, a little toasty on the nose. Earthy, spicy tasty, with a bit of bitting tannins. 2014 vintage on Aug 29, 2017

Aug 27th, 2017Dark purple body, opaque, thin rim. Nose is a little hot, but also has loads of fruit, Cherry and maybe citrus? Can't tell if there is mint or if that's the alcohol. Oak and leather become stronger sensations over time. Palate has good acidity, understated tannins. But then tannins start to dominate the finish. This wine develops over time and each sip is a little different from the previous one. I'm hooked!
