Black cherries, raisins, tar, wet wood, root beer (yep!) and a touch of smoke on the nose. Tart, sweet cherry and fig flavors cascade across the palate, and then they just hang out for a while in an everlong finish, which is highlighted by chalky tannins and juicy persistence. An exceptional dessert wine, and I will get another bottle to age.
