My cab of the year. Lush, lengthy, fantastic backbone and fruit for days.

This was perfect right now. Lush, well balanced. Dark fruits and chocolate, but structured.

2001 vintage. Decanted for two hours before tasting. Wowzers. Can go longer (10-12 years w/o drop-off) but not improving. Large and in charge with plenty of grip and pleasure. 8.19.23.

1 hour decant(lots of chunky/fine sediment). A fabulous dark crimson color with just a hint of bricking. On the nose: subtle notes of dark cherry, smokey oak, vanilla toast, sweet tobacco, cedar and green veggie. Taste: smooth, layered, dense wine with a hint of blackberry, smokey, pencil lead, mocha, pepper, and a earthy cedar finish.

Bond 2001 Cab. The color shows little age —a bright dark red crimson. Nose floats with dark black and red berries, wet earth cedar and sweet honey spices; a minty menthol lingers filling the senses with utter satisfaction. OMG! a very sensual experience in the mouth —full body flavors coat every corner of the tongue with raspberry and blackberry flavors. A minerally, pencil lead, caramel mocha sweetness follows ending with a grippy tannin long finish. Can definitely age another 10-15 years. What can I say, WOW!

1 hour decant (decent chunky/cloudy sediment). A majestic spartan crimson color with little signs of aging. On the nose: very aromatic with that sweet aged Napa perfume, red and black berries, cedar, smoke, slight minty menthol, wet earth, and slight creme brulee. Taste: Singing!!...classic Pink Floyd....Comfortably Numb with the ultimate guitar solo hitting mid palate (thank you David Gilmour!). Its smooth, dense, full body, mouth coating wine with rasberry, blackberry, mocha, crushed rock, pencil lead. A long vanilla mineral finish with some slightly grippy tannins.....will go another 10 years.

Cloudy, foggy brownish red.
Smell: not super floral. A tiny bit of green peppers.
Initial Taste is super intense. A bit bundled up. A bit dark and some dryness. Good fruit. But this isn’t as good as the last melbury I had right off the bat. Definitely was disappointed.
Initial taste is 9.1
