Simultaneously: generous, pretty, and subtle. Lightly minty and floral with red fruits at first, evolving to black fruits and a savory minerality with air. Still quite structured, even taut, but there is a ripeness to the tannins. A pleasant surprise from 375 mL, under screwtop. 38% Grenache, 35% Syrah, 12% Mourvedre, 8% Carignane, and 7% Cinsault

2004 vintage. This is a beautiful wine. Notes of sage and violets on the nose - maybe also some red fruit. It is a lesson in soft tannins and what a wonderful long finish. Also nice acidity. The balance in this wine is remarkable. Drinking properly aged wines like this can truly be a delight.
