Lively ruby color with a straight up earthy nose. Wet stones, dried herbs, and black currant add to the funk here. And there's quite a bit of funk to be had here. Willamette Valley Cabernet Sauvignon and Cab Franc blend seems like it should be the Oregon version of Bordeaux but this is all Loire. New leather and black cherries initially and then comes the brown sugar, warm spices, and tobacco. Low, low alcohol with an almost unbelievable 12.8. Zesty, funky, and well balanced.
