Some nice earthiness with tobacco notes and simple black fruit notes. Decent value I guess.

Nice!

And significantly better than first bottle . Reticent nose. Black cherry, some blue fruit, mint, a faint amount of earth. Just enough grip and a little ebit of a bitter breakfast tea note that holds it together. Completely resolved tannins. Not overly complex but still quite good. A pleasant surprise, but a shocker its showing this well and wouldn’t hold it a day longer.

I tried a Byron Pinot years ago and it always stood out in my mind as one of the best I had ever had. Now I just opened this 2011 Santa Maria Valley Byron Pinot and I am happy to stay I still love it! The nose embodies the basic character of a pinot noir, nothing too fancy there. But once the wine hits your tongue.... well, it is exceptional. A beautiful body, smooth finish, very soft and supple, and delicious dark fruit. Nice and thick, with plenty of fruit and floral notes. Everything you could want in a Pinot Noir.

Earthy, cola, red berries and satiny richness that is often missing from Pinots much pricier than this. Would definitely drink again. #pinotnoir
