Smokey, earthy. Really big wine that mellows out after a while in the decanter. Flavors of mozzarella and cured meat. Pairs well with bold flavored food, (delicious with creamy cheese) but not something I'd usually drink on its own. Opens up nicely. Decent wine for the money (~$11), but not my number 1 choice.
