Black as night in colour. Dense on nose and palate. Oaky Big and ripe with pruney notes. Many Aussie Palates would love this / a mouthful of flavour. So ripe and oaky it masks the varietal character of Primitivo aka Zinfandel. Tasted 34 weeks later on 4th April 2019. More medium bodied than previous examples of this I have tried here or in Puglia. Lightly tarred plum flavours but essentially savoury with little nuance.

Dark Crimson. Notes of paint stripper to begin with which blew off but suffice to say this is a BIG wine. Dense concentrated plummy earthy and sweet fruit. Rich and full bodied with a powerful core yet soft tannins. Very atypical for most Italian wines in my tasting experience. Would appeal to Aussie palates attuned to big SA Shiraz. Ridiculously heavy bottle.
