The nose opens with fruity note ripe plum, prune, raspberry, then turns to oak spice, licorice, black tea, and scent of vanilla. Medium to full body with lush palate. Firm and gripping tannins. Vacqueyras is considered the little brother of Gigondas, and poor man’s CdP, but this bottle is really good and I tend to think it would stand up to most of its neighboring big brothers.
