This was dynamite, fruit still ever present, ripe, new oak well integrated , all the secondary characters present with sweet tobacco and leather leading the way...wow..

This 2006 Ducru wasn't a perfect bottle, I think. Nevertheless it did have some leather, white pepper and black cherries. Very linear and short finish but again I'm pretty sure it is because the bottle wasn't quite right.

Better than a couple years ago. Decanted 2 hours. Very nice wine and quite classic and restrained (13% abv). Good reminder of more traditional bordeaux from my favorite left bank appellation. Great pairing with a pork Wellington. Nice.

A nice Bordeaux but not sure - could maybe use a bit more time. Quite dark in the glass, lots of dark fruit on the nose and palate. Nice acid on the finish but surprisingly still quite tannic and closed.
