Elegant, silky with lots of life left. Glad I held onto it.

45+ minute decant. Dark red color with bricking. Wine is slightly past prime and very tired. Awesome nose of pencil shavings and smoke, but slides downhill after that. Thin, minimal cherry fruit, and lacks depth. Short finish. Had high expectations and if it weren’t for the nose the score would be lower.

‘04 and ‘09 were much more impressive.

Drank this in my neighbors garage so he could enjoy a cigar. Fantastic now and paired well with cigar smoke and no food. Deep, dark, smooth, and full bodied.

This has improved and I enjoyed it more than a couple of other bottles that were opened a couple of years ago. Tannins have softened and the fruit and cedar dominate. Don't know that it will improve, but quite nice now.

v2003. A well done hot vintage Bordeaux. Ready to go with lots of fruit - a little bit pruney, even, but structure is nice. Very pleasant!

Grand daddy of the Sotheby tasting, refined, balanced, fruit that lost its lustre but still amazingly dreamy
