Château Haut-Bages Libéral
Pauillac Red Bordeaux Blend
For the master's final round I'm breaking out the big guns. I can't think of a more appropriate region to head to than the Médoc, the Haut Medoc, and more specifically Pauillac. Initial impression before decanting is a woodsy, cedar wine with melted graphite, steel, black currant, and cranberry. This complex, bold, full bodied wine show incredible precision and refinement. Will update once this wine has caught it's breath.

Sep 4th, 2016Very fresh and bright plenty more years left. Structured tannins and a long smooth finish that develops.

May 24th, 2016Popped this for the biggest Sunday lineup in recent memory - US Open, Game 7, and Thrones - and was not disappointed. Great nose and aromatics that continue on the pallet with flavors of blackberry, plum, and cedar. Well balanced with tight but not over powering tannins. I am guessing that this is still to young and will certainly want to check back in 5-6 years. I had it in the decanter for 4-5 hours and it was still getting better by the time I finished it.

Mar 24th, 20165th growth Bordeaux. Full-bodied, well balanced with a pleasant array of cassis, plum and cedar. Firm tannins that round off towards the finish. Perfect steak pairing wine!
