Excuse the inappropriate glassware selection 😩 I was somehow so exhausted that I thought it would be fun to drink Bordeaux out of a Riesling glass..... Anyway, back to the wine! Actually quite a nice depth, roundness, and subtle berry notes to this low-cost bottle! Seems quite versatile in terms of food pairings. Drank the entire bottle in one night, first along with dinner and then with dark chocolate, and it was the perfect accompaniment the whole way through!

May 17th, 2018I usually like full-bodied Bordeaux but this one wasn't doing it for me. It was about $15 at my local convenience store in Japan. While I like more tannins on the front end that give me pause and almost force me to drink more slowly to find more subtlety of flavor, I felt this vintage had very little complexity compared to what I was looking for~ Fine for sipping but nothing special.
