The typical example that "forgotten" vintages have so much potential and are not arrogant as the exceptional vintages - a beautiful aged wine for a good price- complex, dense and rich - yes 2002 were inexpensive compared to some other late vintages - very smooth wine 😃

Muted nose. Dried lilac. Only decanted an hour. Needs more time. Tannins a bit harsh still. Nice rose petal notes, rich caramel.

This is austere - maybe it's in an unfriendly adolescence, or maybe it's not in prime condition. Some black fruit, more graphite/mineral and black tea, bone-dry and inexpressive after several hours of air.
