Dark purple hue but not completely opaque. The aromas are full of tart cherry, underripe blackberry, with a hint of meaty undertone. Medium tannin, medium to medium plus acidity. Rustic would be the word springing to my mind. It's an honest wine with simple notes of black cherry, black tea, herbaceous note. Finish as it begins with tart cherry, and blackberry. This is my first Cahors and hope sincerely that this is not representative of the region.

Dark fruit, something funky on the nose. I liked the Cahors I had last week better. Still enjoyed this, though.
