Dark blackish red. Prominent nose of blackberry and toasted cedar. Medium-bodied palate gives blackberry, black currant, and other black fruits wrapped in a noticeable but not overpowering wooden wrapper with burnt vanilla. Medium acidity, medium tannins, long dark tarry finish. This native Romanian variety really shows its stuff in this iteration. Just enough oak with an abundance of dark fruit makes for a wine with stellar QPR! At home on a picnic, with hard cheeses, or accompanying a midweek meal. Plus, you can tell your guests that they’re drinking Transylvanian wine! What’s not to love? Drink now through 2022.

A harsh nose, but lighter on the palate.

Medium body, light polished tannin. Red cherry, plum, tomato, and a unique hint of funk. Pleasant enough and different. Im intrigued to try more romanian wines

Studying Romania & bought this out of interest. '12 vintage. A little hot & flabby with a hint of R/S, aromatically sitting somewhere in-between Pinot Noir & Merlot. Earlier picking would have definitely been beneficial. Short finish.

Excellent and intense nose with long beautiful legs. Aromas of plums, spice, and a slightly weird yeasty-musk. Medium bodied, strong tannins, with a lovely finish. I enjoy this wine, a very very good red blend from Romania.

Decent, solid red. Ripe fruit but not tongue-coatingly rich, so in my opinion it outperforms most similarly-priced New World wines.

Good for the price. A little tight the first day. But a nice change of pace from Romania! How often do you drink a feteasca neagra from Romania anyway?
