Delicious. Chocolate, mocha, and cherry/fruit nose, but very very mild and subtle. A mild, long wine. Very mild American Oak or cedar nose. Smells of roots and oak. The taste is cherry, tobacco, oak, leather, vanilla and clove... but extremely subtle and mild. Not a strong wine. We had it with a Filet Mignon, and it does NOT stand up to it at all. Too soft and subtle of a wine for barbecued red meat. We really like this wine, but it's a sipper, or possible an appetizer wine. Peter feels it's best by itself; Kylah suggests chicken empanadas or tapas.
