This wine is just as delicious as the first time I tried it, aging glacially too 😋 Powerful, complex, balanced, texturally expansive and detailed, savory and singular. Love the clarity that binds it all together. Golden pear, pineapple, citron, salted lemon, citrus blossom, candied ginger, crushed leaves, white tea, spring honey, kiss of something vanilla, of a mouthful of wet stones.

Back in my life. So happy about it! Let this hang out for a day and it has really came around. Poached quince, bergamot, pineapple, honeycomb, leaves, ginger, wet rocks, lanolin, marzipan, orange zest. Love the layers and approachability of this wine. Truly cerebral and exciting to drink.

How have I not had this wine in my life before? Leafy green tones, dizzying array of orchard and citrus fruits, all super bright and ripe, fresh mushrooms, ginger candy, fresh soil, wax, and stones. Mouth coating and dense. Acidity is persistent but not searing. Balanced from start to finish.

Sexed-up and somewhat oaky, but it works.

Excellent example of Chenin, accessible with slightly lighter cuisine than Coulee de Serrant.

Unlike other Savennières producers who pick deliberately early for acidity, this is picked slightly later when the grapes reach physiological ripeness. This makes for a wine that is giving and pleasurable today while still capable of aging. The grapes are harvest by hand, and the wine is made naturally. Beautiful golden color, with copper like minerallity accenting a honeyed pear flavor and aroma. The nose is riper than the taste - which although opulent - finishes clean. Great wine.

2011... Great yellow fruit nose, not giving a lot on palate tonight but still enjoyable.
