First day seemed Dark with dark fruits and cherry. Second day somehow brightened up into an almost textbook
Santenay. Nose still dark with dark cherry fruit that are floral in nature, along with a hint of licorice and framed by herbs and leather. Palate bright with red as well as fresh black cherry fruit and even some cranberry. along with notes of flowers and a a strong spicy note that might be a bit of cayenne . Bright and energetic with lively acidity yet still taught and tannic. Still manages to be deep and dark while having elements of bright and juicy. No funk (not that we don’t love funk!) just clean, focused and precise in a way that feels far more elevated than I would have expected. Les hates us literally surrounded by 1er vineyards, and seems to drink better than many. Fantastic
