A glass ordered off the wine list. Amber brownish gold. Heavy but translucent. Powerful nose. Notes of brown sugar, molasses, warm orange sauce and some burnt butter. Powerful acidity. Very rich. Fun to try and enjoy.

Delicious with amazing length. Will relax a bit and get more mellow and delicious after a little air I think.

Feb 4th, 2017A month after opening. Wonderful structure with a dark molasses note cording through. Rather dry, and all the more attractive for it.

Jul 23rd, 2018First taste. Short decant. Heavily perfumed. Finish lasts for minutes. A real stunner.

Jul 5th, 2018Upon opening there's wonderful raisin on the nose. Great whiskey or brandy smell to it. Very smooth with a long finish, complex raisin and citrus, like pineapple and lemon. Definite acidity. Had never tried a Madeira before, and was expecting a sherry or port experience, but this was more complex and more alcoholic than expected. Very nice!
