Earthy, red fruited, Sous Bois , also red florals. A wonderful perfume. This is why one cellars Grand Cru Burgundy. Aristocratic, refined and gorgeous. Medium bodied palate with resolved tannins. Not as full bodied as Rousseau’s Chambertin Cuvées. It’s interesting that another taster picked it as Vosne Romanee because of its delightful perfume.

A rich cardinal in colour. Red fruits - mainly cherry with sappiness and Sous Bois. Quite fruit driven on the medium plus bodied palate - sweetish - delicious. Finishing with fine savoury tannins. Inherent power which will see the last one consumed in a few years. I don’t drink Grand Crus on a regular basis but it’s nice to see the step up in quality when one does. Wonderful balance with wonderful persistence and longevity.
