Aug 18th, 2018Further proof of the possibilities of Nuits Saint Georges, the De L'Arlot '14 was earthy and intense, showing dark berries and moist soil with floral funk and savory minerality. On the palate, I found youthfully angular textures with sappy persistence, showing dark red berry fruit and a mix of gripping acidity and fine tannin. It finished long on dark red fruit, hints of undergrowth and inner floral tones. The Forets is full of potential, and just needs a few years in the cellar.

Apr 26th, 2017Just opened and will need time air/time to properly evaluate. Trying to gauge the 2014’s to help get a read on the 2017’s. Lovely so far, with more of that cherried-meatiness I typically associate with the vineyard.
