Winter Strawberry Compote meets the mushroom forest floor of Big Sur. When sitting next to Gary Franscioni at Nepenthe at one of the best tables in the restaurant.... You buy another bottle to sit longer and take in view and watch the fog roll in!

Dec 31st, 2017Very smoky, gassy, brooding, meaty, closed at first. Served far too warm. After a spell on ice, black cherry, cola, floral perfume, anise emerged. Temp SO important. Lovely with wild salmon. Needs time.

Jun 21st, 2015A gem of baked cherry and strawberry pie deep inside an old dank mountain cave. A touch of bret, deteriorating deciduous leaf, reminiscent of long-issued French Oak. Framed by an ancient expression of organically starved terroir.
