I realize quality, overall quality. This wine represent two thing; above average quality combined with a style of wine I do not like. It’s like... always when Montille is served blind and my first thought is Piedmont gone wrong. Same feeling here. Tannins are still coarse and unyielding, with the supporting fruit loose knit. It’s great Terroir here and it’s weird to me that they don’t get their gear fixed. Still no rush drinking it if you’re fans of ages wines, then you wait. To me necrophilia lies ahead.

2002 - acid and little wild, underripe strawberries on the nose. Broadened with time arriving at a powerful wine with notes of gravel and anise and a major whack of sauvage. Was it my favorite wine? Not really, but it engaged us in a lengthy discussion, which, I think is one of the purposes of this great beverage....having said that it did grow on me

Soulful wine but lifted at the same time. Right on the border between secondary and tertiary notes. Sous-bois and decomposing wood but with a swelling of red fruit undertones. Cherry but also prune, but not at all stewed or cooked. The fruit continued to emerge. I think this is just entering its drinking window and should be great for the next 3-5 years
