Lieu dit village wine showing intense limestone character. Reduction on the nose, eventually leading to more pure aromatics of damp redwood forest, black raspberries, gravel, licorice and sweet baking spices. Slightly charred caramel component, highly suggestive of toasted oak. A bit hollow in the mid palate but with grainy and persistent tannins. Intense, earthy, a bit funky and angular.

Mar 19th, 2018Obviously a nice wine but not sure it's worth the premium over their villages level bottling. Lots of red fruit on the nose, but the mid palate lacks a bit of earth. Still nice acid and structure on the finish to keep it together. Nice but not great value.
